MNS Consul Home Care Ltd take our role in the local community very seriously. We not only want to make a real difference as a home care provider, but also to the grass roots football in the local area that is always in need for support. Exercise, learning about camaraderie and being a good teammate are all incredibly beneficial to our children and support physical as well as mental health and wellbeing. We are very proud to be sponsoring the U13 girls team of Essex-based Galleywood Youth Football Club, who are a real, family-focused football club and have recently won Essex County club of the year for 2026 – a real testament to the hard work, talented coaching and nurturing environment the club provides for its young players.

There is a real parallel between the ethos of Galleywood Youth FC and the MNS Consul outlook. We both thrive on helping bring the best out of people, supporting families in the local area and bringing people together in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Mental and physical health are both prioritised, as is a sense of community, care and compassion.

Coaches Laura Matthews and Daniel Storrar and manager Kelly Storrar for the Magpies (the nickname for the U13 girls team we sponsor) do a fantastic job of preparing the girls for matches, managing the squad and ensuring everyone gets the opportunity to shine. While results on the pitch this season haven’t quite gone according to plan thus far, the talent and enthusiasm to find the winning formula are there and most importantly the girls are having great fun and honing their skills.

The Importance of Sponsoring a Local Sports Team

Sponsoring a local sports team is a hugely important and worthy endeavour for a number of reasons. Local sports teams have a number of expenses, often relying on volunteers and parents to cover, so anything that local businesses can do to pitch in is immensely valuable. It allows MNS Consul to feel even more involved in the local community and we are proud that our name is associated with such a great local club.

Local business involvement in grass roots football helps to nurture a thriving community hub. Match days are usually attended by parents and family of players from all backgrounds and businesses and local networks can be considerably strengthened at the side of the pitch. Investing in grass roots sport represents an investment in the areas social capital, showcasing a commitment to the very foundation of our society. Obviously there is a return on investment and that is measured not only in brand awareness, but in our case the goodwill of supporting the beautiful game in its purest form, untainted as the modern game can be by vastly inflated wages, diving and VAR!

Most importantly, however, by ensuring the survival of teams like the Magpies, football is kept more affordable, and as a result, more accessible, which means more young girls in our local community have the option to enjoy the health, interpersonal, and social benefits of playing football.
